John's principal areas of practice are estate planning and wealth transfer, taxation, business succession, probate, asset protection planning, tax compliance, international estate planning, business planning, general corporate law and choice of entity formation and organization.

Some of John’s recent engagements include:

Design and implementation of a tax-free reorganization for a client’s business divorce.  The enterprise was divided into separate parts to accomplish certain financial goals, to achieve tax savings, and prevent any conflict between its owners.

Implementation of captive insurance companies for its closely-held business clients. John assists clients in reducing current income taxes and minimizing future estate taxes and ensures compliance obligations are met.

Planning and implementation of private foundations for clients so charitably inclined.  John assists clients in achieving charitable goals with income and/or estate tax benefits.

John enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, Elizabeth. When time allows, John enjoys watching sports and spending time outdoors kayaking/canoeing/tubing, hiking, and camping.
